About Us: The Work Programme is a UK Government`s initiative, part funded by the European Social Fund, which provides a coordinated package of support to long-term unemployed individuals, regardless of the benefits they claim. Serco delivers two Work Programme contracts on behalf of the Department for Work and Pensions in: Coventry and Warwickshire, Staffordshire and The Marches. South Yorkshire. In the last 2 years we have supported over 13,000 people back into work.

Role Summary: MI Serco Welfare services and Shared capability team manage the MI for varied departments in support of Contract delivery and improved performance management. This role will provide support to the business in the form of understanding the Data, design and structure of the MI database and own and support it. This is a technical role that will require the user to have excellent technical skills as well as the ability to understand and manage a diverse range of requests. Reports will be required to be generated and these will be run in line with the process set out by the MI Manager.

Main responsibilities are:

Data Quality - Provide scheduled daily, weekly and monthly updates on improvements to DQ.

Analyse and identify the DQ issues.

Look for ways to continually enhance the improvements to Data and quality provision.

Act as an Data super user to support regional teams in improvements locally.

Develop new MI reports working closely with the regional teams and the MI manager to ensure compliance with reporting guidelines.

Strategic MI support

Support the development and design of strategic reporting framework, working closely with the MI manager and MI analysts, to ensure that the MI Database is capable of continued delivery.

Develop efficient processes to run and support the ongoing strategic reporting of the FND and wider welfare to work, with improved data quality and efficient management of data.

Understand and manage the DTS packages to support the MI database in line with set guidelines and working closely with IS to ensure compliance.

Review and manage the availability of External data from Government and others for use in enriching the MI database

Qualifications and training: Ideally qualified to degree level or equivalent.

Previous experience - Essential: Advanced analytical skills Microsoft Excel (Advanced) Microsoft Access (Advanced) Microsoft SQL Server 2008 T-SQL (Advanced) SSRS (Basic) SSIS (Intermediate) Experience of data migration and building databases.

Nice to have: Experience of BI tools such as Crystal reports, Business objects. Design and management of ETL or DTS package solutions

Specific requirements: Security Clearance at SC level (Serco Civil Government is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and all offers of employment are subject to security clearance checks and approval by the Home Office).
