Metallurgical Engineer

IMMEDIATE NEED: for an entry level 0-3 yrs. experience Process Metallurgist at a large steelmaker in the Detroit MI area specializing in steel production/processing of flat rolled, carbon steel products. Client is looking for local candidates or those who can self relocate with 1+ years hands on experience in a plant environment or relevant internships. This is contract position for 6-12 months. RESPONSIBILITIES

- Interface with continuous operations and assist in cost, quality and customer satisfaction improvement efforts
- Review policies and procedures to prevent further occurrence of defects
- Disposition of products
- Drive corrective actions through use of quality system to create lasting actions
- Audit quality assurance system to ensure compliance with established guidelines

REQUIREMENTS

- Bachelor of Science degree in Metallurgy, Physical Science, Chemical Engineering or Materials Science and 1+ years hands on experience in a plant environment or relevant internships
- Expertise in Statistics, Statistical Process Control, Data Analysis
- Excellent problem solving abilities
- Team oriented attitude with a strong work ethic
- Excellent Computer Skills
- PLUS: experience in Failure Analysis
