Eden Brown Recruitment requires an HCPC registered Qualified Social Worker for a Mental Health Team in Huntingdon

The Ideal Social worker must have excellent assessment skills and the ability to carry a complex caseload.
Working in a mental health environment can be very challenging but extremely rewarding. It is about making a positive difference to people's lives by contributing to their health, safety and wellbeing.
Purpose of the Job:
Manage a Mental Health caseload of various levels of complexities, involving the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of appropriate action, to ensure that resources are utilised effectively to empower the client through the development of the service and to safeguard and promote their welfare. You will be working in line with the competency standards set out in the Mental Health Training Framework.

Main duties and responsibilities:
Operate a CPA key-worker for many clients, including assessments and the development and review of care plans and community care packages where relevant, in conjunction with community support, day care and/or assertive outreach staff, to effectively meet the needs of the client group and their carers in line with the competencies set out in the Mental Health Training Framework.
Actively participate in, and contribute to team meetings, to include Community Mental Health and Mental Health Social Worker meetings, to ensure that continuous professional development is maintained.
Ensure client records are effectively maintained in order to provide up-to-date and accurate information, upon which decisions affecting service delivery can be made.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Good interpersonal skills in order to communicate effectively with clients and colleagues
Ability to work within a framework of social work ethics, including confidentiality
Ability to prioritise and to work effectively on own initiative as well as within a team
Good report-writing skills and the ability to communicate clearly in writing
Computer literate

KNOWLEDGE
A working knowledge of the Mental Health Act 1983 and the Code of Practice 1999, the NHS and Community Care Act 1989, the Carers' Recognition and Services Act 1997
A working knowledge of models of mental disorders and treatments, and approaches to social work intervention
A good knowledge and understanding of CPA and Care Management
Working knowledge of Health, directorate and corporate procedures and practice, especially those relating to the Mental Health Good Practice Guide

Candidate minimum requirements:
Enhanced DBS
HCPC registered
Car driver / owner
Post Qualified experience working within this setting
