Mental health social worker Required

We are looking for a Social Worker for a fast paced first response service, you must be able to problem solve, prioritise quickly, identify risk, be an experienced safeguarding practitioner,
The client is committed to supporting and developing their most important asset – their social workers in both Children and Adults Services they are following a progressive and exciting path that is seeing performance improvements and innovations that are making big differences to vulnerable people.
As a mental health social worker you will work in the Access and Assessment Team. The team is the single point of access to the Mental Health Services in Milton Keynes. The team receives a high volume of referrals every day from GP's and other professionals for individuals with Mental Health difficulties and emerging mental illness.
They are a busy and dynamic Team of multi professionals, who work together to offer assessments and advice to those referred. We are seeking qualified social work professionals who are self-motivated, resilient and skilled in the areas of assessing needs and risks of individuals.
The successful Social worker will be need to be advanced in their communication skills, with an aptitude for attention to detail and the resilience to work autonomously and under pressure for extended periods. The team believes they have a supportive Team structure and being a team player is essential to the working environment and due to the nature of the work is vital we find the right people for the job and for the wellbeing of all the members.
Duties:
-Assessing levels of risk
-Carrying out needs assessments
-Drawing up and managing a care plan in conjunction with other professionals
-Working within a multidisciplinary teams within the mental health trust
-Supporting people with mental health issues, many who also have complex needs
-Actively participate in, and contribute to team meetings to ensure that continuous professional development is maintained.
-Ensure client records are effectively maintained in order to provide up-to-date and accurate information, upon which decisions affecting service delivery can be made.

KNOWLEDGE
A working knowledge of the Mental Health Act 1983 and the Code of Practice 1999, the NHS and Community Care Act 1989, the Carers' Recognition and Services Act 1997
A working knowledge of models of mental disorders and treatments, and approaches to social work intervention
A good knowledge and understanding of CPA and Care Management
Working knowledge of Health, directorate and corporate procedures and practice, especially those relating to the Mental Health Good Practice Guide

Candidate minimum requirements:
Enhanced DBS
HCPC registered
Car driver / owner
Post Qualified experience working within this setting

Desirable
AHMP Qualifications
Qualified experience in mental health
