Medical Proofreader

We are seeking a Medical Proofreader for a 12 month contract position in Atlanta, GA.

Skills:

- Targeting someone with 4-10 years experience.
- Any medical or pharma proof reading or similar regulated industry.
- Work schedule can be flexible up to 32 hrs per week as needed minimum of 24 hours per week.
- May be asked to assist with print on demand labeling software as needed.

Responsibilities:

- Proofread all packaging projects (labels, User Manual, Instructions for Use, etc.) for spelling, grammar, punctuation, copy content, graphic elements/style, product terminology, etc. 
- Substantive editing - rephrase copy to eliminate ambiguity, reorganize and simplify copy, etc. 
- Research copy on Internet for technical/medical accuracy and validity. 
- Develop and maintain standard/style guides for projects. 
- Review approved copy against standards to maintain copy accuracy and consistency. 
- Work closely with artists, engineers and packaging coordination to resolve queries and issues. 
- Proofread and review printers proofs for color consistency, graphic elements, copy content, etc. 
- Track and monitor printer proofs. 
- Assist with additional projects as needed, eg, database editing. 
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision, maintain a flexible work schedule and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
