Job Title: Medical Information Pharmacovigilance Executive (Contract)

Location: Buckinghamshire

Duration: ASAP 6-12 months

The Role:

To provide timely and high quality information services in support of the Company's products and interests to
External customers: Members of the medical and allied professions, patients etc
Internal customers: Field force, medical, marketing etc.
To fulfil legal requirements to capture and process adverse events and product complaints from the UK and Ireland.
Answer medical/technical enquiries from users of Company's products (doctors, pharmacists, patients etc), by the retrieval, evaluation and presentation of high quality information using in-house and external sources, in a timely manner.
Select current information on topics of interest and disseminate effectively to in-house staff so that they are kept up-to-date with new developments in their fields of interest.
Record and process adverse event/safety and product complaint data to meet regulatory and Company requirements, including case processing and requests for follow up information.
Work closely with colleagues in achieving the Company's business objectives:
In training of sales representatives - specifically in drug safety and medical information processes but also in ensuring all product and therapeutic training materials are up to date
In support of marketing activities
Participate in the approval process for promotional material ensuring their technical accuracy and that professional and legal requirements are met.
Ensure updated product materials (such as SmPCs and PILs) are available via relevant publications and websites (such as BNF, eMC and medicines.ie) within required timelines.
Assist with the maintenance of departmental databases on company products, competitor products, therapeutic area interests and evaluated clinical and pharmaceutical data in order to facilitate quick and accurate enquiry answering.
Mentor/train more junior members of the MIPV team.

The Candidate:

Relevant scientific degree - life sciences, e.g. pharmacy, pharmacology
Experience in medical information and/or pharmacovigilance in the pharmaceutical industry (minimum 2 years)
Ability to work under pressure
Adaptability - able to respond to changing customer demands in an innovative manner
Ability to work both as an individual and as a member of a team
Good communication skills both written and oral
Ability to communicate with a range of customers, e.g. from patient to hospital consultant
Computer literate
Keyboard skills
Good time management - ability to work on several issues simultaneously and re-prioritise work in rapidly changing environment
Proven ability to pick up therapy areas quickly
