Medical Device Mechanical Designer

For our client in BASEL we are looking for an MEDICAL DEVICE MECHANICAL DESIGNERfor a 6-MONTH contract.

JOB TITLE: MEDICAL DEVICE MECHANICAL DESIGNER

DURATION: 01/02/2019 TO 31/07/2019

LOCATION: BASEL

WORKLOAD: 100%

DESCRIPTION:

. Work with team to develop medical devices used in combination products eg. auto-injector or injection pens.
. Create detailed CAD models and drawings of components, including proper dimensioning and tolerances
. Work with suppliers to incorporate feedback on manufacturing processes and inspection dimensions
. Manage CAD Product Data Management database
. Test components and devices in the lab

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:

An ideal candidate would have at least five years of experience in product design, with a focus on plastic components. This should include an understanding of the injection molding process and how to design for high volume production.

MUST HAVES:

. Experience in Solidworks or other similar CAD package
. Experience working in Product Data Management (PDM) systems, such as Enterprise PDM or Windchill
. Understanding of dimensioning and tolerancing standards
. Experience in Product Design and Design for Manufacturing
. Good organization and communication skills in English
. Experience in medical device development not required, but preferred
