CONTRACT DURATION: 6 MONTHS

LOCATION: LUTON

THE ROLE:

To be the clinical expert delivering medical insight and governance into projects and activities supporting the Business Development and Cornerstone portfolio, in order to meet product and/or Therapy Area objectives, including Due Diligence activities. To transition key Business Development projects into Medical Affairs as the medical and data expert

RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE:

- Be the therapeutic and data expert on products and projects as defined in support of key Business Development and/or Cornerstone initiatives
- Contribute to the development and execution of Medical Plans and/or Due Diligence Assessments to support Business Development and Cornerstone product and project plans, including data gap analysis for label, HTA, local market access and promotional claims
- Provide expert medical opinion into regulatory submissions, including variations and marketing authorisations, to maximise the benefit to patient care and the UK business
- Liaise with and influence other teams on the design and development of clinical study concepts to address key data gaps, in line with the UK/Area product strategy
- For major projects, and where appropriate, transfer knowledge and expertise into Medical Affairs as new products are transferred into the in-line portfolio
- Ensure the patient is at the heart of all activities
- Develop and maintain scientific relationships with key physicians to build customer insight and develop strategic partnerships
- Lead the development and implementation of Clinical Advisory Boards
- Develop & leverage medical insight through attendance at scientific meetings to further develop own and company knowledge base
- Develop and leverage medical insight from external and internal customers into key activities, projects and plans
- Provide expert medical input into key market access activities
- Support the delivery of key existing and emerging Life Cycle initiatives (MC3 etc.) by providing expert medical advice and customer insight
- Support the development and monitoring of named patient programmes if applicable
- Act as a role model and ensure ethical/professional behaviour
- Ensure that the company activities comply with standards for medical governance and duty of care
- Provide expert medical input into issues management (eg product withdrawals, safety alerts, etc.)
- Drive intelligent compliance through adherence to the ABPI Code of Practice and PAGB Codes as applicable.
- Responsible for medical approval of all media and promotional materials and lead the defence/challenge of promotional activities for ABPI/PAGB for the Cornerstone portfolio and defined business development products
- Support the development and quality execution of the Risk Management Plans for identified products
- Ensure regular communication of best practice and facilitation of knowledge sharing across the Medical Affairs and Medical Excellence teams
- Input into Medical Affairs and Medical Excellence Team performance metrics
- Promote best practice by sharing successes and by helping to identify/resolve issues with other Medical and Brand teams

REQUIREMENTS:

- Registered Physician (preferably GMC) or Pharmacist (General Pharmaceutical Council registered) or equivalentin experience
- Extensive oncology experience
- Evidence of effective team working and accountability
- Extensive patient and customer insight through experience in the NHS
- Evidence of effective team working and accountability
