Media Relations Officer

Media Relations Officer required for part time role with public sector organisation in Edinburgh for 10 month contract.

THIS ROLE IS TO WORK 14 HOURS PER WEEK, MON-THURS AM ONLY.

Duties required:

- Preparation and delivery of targeted media plans and campaigns
- Drafting of news releases and quotes
- Dealing with enquiries from journalists
- Pitching to relevant media organisations
- Handling negative media attention
- Evaluating media outputs and outcomes against the media plan
- Acting as an official spokesperson for the client

Experience required:

- Experience of devising and delivering media/public relations/communications plans and campaigns
- Proven track record in dealing effectively with the media on a daily basis
- Strong news sense and judgement
- Advanced writing abilities
- Good political awareness

This role is to start in December 2012 initially through to October 2013 on a part time (14 hours/4 days per week) basis.

You will be required to undergo security clearance for this role so must have lived in the UK for a minimum of 5 years to be considered.
