Mechanical Tutor/Teacher

The Mechanical Tutor will be responsible for the training and development of related courses within the Advanced Engineering Apprenticeship Framework, ensuring that all activities undertaken are in line with the QATS Quality Manual, Ofsted and all external Awarding Organisational requirements. This is contract role for a minimum of 3 months,

RESPONSIBILITIES AND EXPERIENCE.

- Able to teach BTEC unit 6 Mechanical Principles & unit 66 Theory of Flight.
- Planning courses that are suitable for a learner group.
- To deliver both practical and theoretical lessons in the relevant subject area.
- Identifying the needs of learners and using teaching methods accordingly.
- Preparing schemes of work, lesson plans and learning materials.
- Accompanying students on field trips and educational visits.
- Evaluating and assessing each student's performance and progress, and documenting all progress.
- PDM for names apprentices.
- Complete 12 weekly reviews.
- To ensure own CPD requirements are adhered to and recorded.
- Through the correct chain of command advise on the development need of any quality improvements required in terms of training/resources and assessments materials.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION ARE:

- Teaching Qualification (PGCE, Cert ED, DTTLS) -presently working towards, or acceptance that a recognised teaching qualification must be achieved within time stated at interview.
- Qualified Assessor - or be willing to attain qualification within initial 12 months.
- Level 3/4 Aeronautical Engineering or CV to confirm level of experience
- Recognised member of IFL
- CRB checked
- Excellent teaching skills.
- Relevant experience of working within an educational/training environment
- Ability to empathise with young adults yet conducts oneself as an appositive and professional role model.

Desirable qualifications also include a Degree in Aeronautical Engineering.
