Mechanical Tooling Engineer

Sitec are currently looking to recruit 2 Tooling Engineers (Mechanical) for a nuclear MoD establishment in Reading. The post is for an estimated 12 month contract and is paying competitively on an hourly basis.

Successful applicants will be required to be Security Cleared prior to appointment.

Key Responsibilities
* To provide a level of leadership and support to the Engineering Manager and Technical Authority. Ensuring that all technical aspects of new and current tooling and equipment within designated area of responsibility are available and underwritten, including but not limited to:
o Establishing customer and process requirements, including the production of supporting documentation such as the Statement of Technical Requirement and Engineering Specification
o Production of technical product specifications in support of the design (drawings, specifications, maintenance instructions etc)
o Modification of existing tooling and equipment as required in accordance with Manufacturing Procedures including the preparation and maintenance of configuration acceptance Notes
o Produce and maintain design history files
o Procurement (or assist in the procurement) of tooling and equipment
o Assist in the prove out of the tool or equipment in conjunction with the Technical Authority and Manufacturing Authority
o Supporting the Manufacturing Engineer and the Senior Tooling Engineer in the commissioning of the tool or equipment
* To ensure understanding and application of all responsibilities with regard to the Company's Environment, Health, Safety, Security and Quality Standards
* To safeguard Company information and assets from unauthorised access or disclosure, reporting security breaches and applying security at all times

Qualifications
* HNC or equivalent in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering, with a formal Engineering Apprenticeship or recognised formal training in engineering

Knowledge
* Working knowledge of Computer Aided Design techniques, preferably 3D
* Knowledge of manufacturing techniques and processes
* Knowledge of Product Definition (Drawing) Standards
* UK Health and Safety Legislation
* Quality standards and procedures
* Configuration management

Experience
* Practical experience of machine tools, production activities and processes
* Some experience of the production of technical product specifications (drawings, etc.) is desirable
