Mechanical Resident Engineer

A vacancy has arisen for a Mechanical Resident Engineer to join a well-established building services consultancy on a 24 month fixed-term contract in the City of London. The project is working for a worldwide investment bank on a new UK commercial headquarters based in central London on a large, long-term fixed contract basis.

Our client is a successful medium-sized M&E consultancy that has been providing expertise within design and project management for over 40 years, specifically working on a number of large commercial property developments. Therefore the successful candidate must have a background incorporating commercial mechanical design, as they will be managing the technical aspects of the installation e.g.

-Making sure mechanical works installed correctly
-Making sure spec fits to original client brief
-Leading any design changes (making sure contractor delivers as per the scope of work)
-Liaising/supporting with relevant authorities and organisations to ensure all aspects of the project remain on schedule wherever possible
-Management of the design development process
-Technical Management of the service contractors
-Oversee production of drawings, schedules and specifications

The ideal candidate would also have experience overseeing other consultants/engineers on behalf of clients and undertaking technical design reviews of designs produced by others.
Essential:

-Qualified professional with a proven track record of managing technical delivery of complex projects on time and within agreed budgets
-At least educated to at least HNC/HND level.
-Effective troubleshooting skills for design change plans

Desirable:
-Extensive experience of leading design teams on multi-disciplinary projects
-Excellent leadership, verbal and communication skills
