Project Engineer/Project Manager

Location: Newton Aycliffe

Rate: circa £40.00 per hour

12 Month Contract

The Company

The opportunity has arisen to join an industry leader in innovative global technology solutions as an Quality Engineer. The company is committed to developing practical technology solutions to improve safety within manufacturing.

The role:

The mechanical project engineer will be responsible for:

*Managing a number of capital investment projects across the site. These will be a mixture of installation of manufacturing and automated assembly equipment, plant support services, building services installations, facility refurbishment works and plant installation works.
*The preparation of proposals, project scope and project plans to monitor and control timescales and resources.
*The preparation of engineering specifications for new and existing machinery.
*Managing production resources on capital projects.
*The selection & supervision of Contractors and suppliers.
*Liaising with suppliers regarding equipment specifications, design reviews, vendor assessments, and other areas as required, in order to ensure that the project comes in on budget and time.
*Co-ordinating with suppliers, contractors, purchasing, production on capital projects.
*Managing the installation and commissioning of equipment, and ensuring it meets Health & Safety standards.
*You may also be involved in supporting other sites in the North East as required.

The Candidate:

As a Project Engineer you should have:

*Previous experience of managing and delivering capital investment projects within a manufacturing or automated assembly environment.
*Previous experience of working with Automated Assembly Equipment or Robotic manufacturing lines.
*A good understanding of CE Requirements, CDM and Health & Safety Legislation's, such as NEBOSH or SMSTS.
*Good communication skills as you will be liaising with internal teams, contractors and suppliers.
*A valid UK driving licence, as you may occasionally be required to travel to other sites in the North East to support other projects.
