Mechanical Engineer Required - Immediate Start - Flexible Working

A fast growing Mechanical and Electrical Engineering Department within an Energy Consultancy is seeking an Intermediate or Senior Engineer to join their team.

The candidate will have a minimum of 5 years mechanical engineering consultancy background, and will be confident in design of HVAC systems as well as Client interaction, interpreting and developing briefs and employers requirements. He/she will show a willing to progress his/her own capabilities, and work well independently and as a team member.

The candidate will report directly to the Building Services Manager, but will be confident in working independently, and will manage many of his/her own projects from feasibility stage, through to completion.

The role will include 1-2 days in the company's Southend-based office.

Day to day tasks generally include:

- Design of heating, hot and cold water, gas, above ground foul drainage, air conditioning, ventilation and controls systems for new build and existing, domestic and commercial properties.
- Undertaking heat loss, heat gain and equipment and pipe/duct sizing calculations.
- Sketching, or using CAD to super-impose services layouts on to Architectural backgrounds.
- Attending and chairing design team meetings.
- Site surveys and inspections.
- Writing feasibility studies and service specifications.

The employers current portfolio of work includes a range of interesting and diverse projects, including BMW, Mini, Audi and Ford New Build and Refurbishment Showrooms, High End Residential Properties with Bishops Avenue and alike, Schools, Offices, Doctors Surgeries and a range of domestic developments.

A good level of spoken and written English is essential, and a full UK Drivers licence and competence and experience in CAD work would be preferential.
