Mechanical Engineer Job

MECHANICAL ENGINEER needed for a CONTRACT opportunity with Yoh's client located in LAKE FOREST, CA

THE BIG PICTURE - TOP SKILLS YOU SHOULD POSSESS:

- Bachelor's degree with ten (10) or more years with two (2) years Med. Industry preferred.
- Masters degree with eight (8) or more years with two (2) years Med. Industry preferred.
- Broad knowledge of lab instrumentation; Instron, optical measurement systems, LabView, etc.
- Knowledge of mechanism design, injection molding, over molding, machining, sheet metal, tolerance analysis, GD plastics, stainless steels, silicone, TPEs; joining techniques, bonding, ultrasonic welding is preferred
- Hands on Pro-e design (Creo) three (3) or more years
- Hands-on mechanical skills.
- Experience writing test procedures, protocols and/or technical reports.
- Knowledge of V&V activities such as packaging, biocompatibility and sterility verification testing.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

- Works in a collaborative team environment developing innovative solutions for ophthalmic surgical equipment.
- Participate in the design and development of mechanical components, systems, and products.
- Designs, builds, documents and tests mechanical fixtures using Pro-E (Creo).
- Details drawings with appropriate tolerances and GD&T.
- Designs, builds, tests and analyzes prototypes.
- Writes test procedures, protocols and technical reports.
- Support product research to establish and/or verify product performance requirements.
- Development of requirements, detailed product design, performance verification and validation.
- Work with cross-functional teams including Manufacturing, QA, SW and Marketing.
- Support V Instron, optical measurement systems, LabView, etc.
- Knowledge of mechanism design, injection molding, over molding, machining, sheet metal, tolerance analysis, GD plastics, stainless steels, silicone, TPEs; joining techniques, bonding, ultrasonic welding is preferred.
- Hands on Pro-e design (Creo) three (3) years.
- Hands-on mechanical skills.
- Experience writing test procedures, protocols and/or technical reports.
- Effective oral and written technical communication skills.
- Knowledge of V&V activities such as packaging, biocompatibility and sterility verification testing.
