Mechanical Engineer - Electronics Packaging Job

MECHANICAL ENGINEER needed for a 12 month contract opportunity with Yoh's client located in Erie, PA.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

- Responsible for the mechanical design of electrical control and power distribution equipment.
- In this role you will coordinate with the electrical engineering teams, support manufacturing and testing of electrical equipment, and coordinate with a global design team to develop innovative mechanical designs for microelectronics and power electronics systems.
- Interface with teams throughout the global business to provide innovative packaging solutions for locomotive, mining, and marine applications.
- Responsible for supporting manufacturing and testing and validation of microelectronics and power electronics assemblies and related equipment.
- Responsible for integration of equipment in large and complex equipment arrangements, managing ventilation requirements, wiring, cabling, and electrical layout requirements.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO BRING TO THE TABLE:

- Bachelors Degree of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum of three (3) years of demonstrated experience in the field of mechanical design, with experience in sheet metal, castings, thermal modelling and heat transfer analysis, and airflow testing.
- Ability to test on a locomotive and work within a locomotive operating environment
- Strong oral and written and presentation communication skills
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
- Experience in supporting mechanical vibration and thermal testing
- Proficiency using NX

BONUS POINTS! DESIRED SKILLS:

- MS in Mechanical Engineering
- Strong experience in structural FEA, stress and modal analysis, using Ansys and Ansys Workbench
- Strong experience in electronics thermal analysis using IcePak, and experience in CFD
- Familiarity with sheet metal fabrication, die casting processes and part design, sand casting, plastic injection molding
- Experience with fan selection and airflow testing.
