Mechanical Engineer/Designer Job

MECHANICAL ENGINEER needed for a CONTRACT opportunity with Yoh's client located in Lynchburg, Virginia.

TOP SKILLS YOU SHOULD POSSESS:

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

- Responsible for development and analysis of mechanical designs for LMR terminal and infrastructure equipment including cabinet/module, mobile, portable radios and accessories.
- Develop mechanical designs for components and products, interfacing and directing subcontract resources, and supporting tooling and sourcing efforts for mechanical components.
- Tasks include design engineering, establishing requirements, analysing/evaluating designs for compliance with specifications, design documentation, support of tooling development, first article samples inspection/acceptance, and generating reports.
- Analysis, troubleshooting and fixing mechanical related issues on existing products.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING TO THE TABLE:

- BSME or equivalent experience required
- Five to seven (5-7) years of experience in mechanical design of including three (3) years of experience in design of small portable electronics
- Proficient with Pro-ENGINEER or preferably PTC Creo
- Experience with geometric dimensioning and tolerancing
- Demonstrated ability to develop concepts and designs incorporating mechanical standards, thermal and airflow analysis, shielding techniques and stress analysis.
- Experience in plastic injection molded parts design, tooling and prototyping.

- Effective written and oral communication skills required.
- Work effectively with multiple cross-functional teams
- Ability to lead teams
- Experience with Solidworks
