Mechanical Engineer

I am currently representing a client in the market who have 2 vacancies for Mechanical Engineers to join their growing and respected Engineering department. Would you be interested in the below? The successful applicant will work within a team of Mechanical Engineers and Draughters, dealing with all mechanical aspects of the client's equipment and systems. Job Description Work on the design and development of new and existing tools and systems. Generate and maintain appropriate documentation to record the design and development phase. The ideal candidate will have an appropriate engineering or science degree and 2-4 years of downhole tool design and development experience. Principal duties: Design of mechanical components and systems; Stress analysis calculations; Generate CAD models and drawings (layouts, assemblies, detail, client etc); Generate procedures (assembly, test etc); Generate engineering test reports; Checking of engineering documents; Perform test build of new equipment; perform prototype testing; Advising on ordering of equipment for new tools and development work; Participate in design reviews; Support internal and external customers on technical queries; Maintain design files Support operations by working at client sites (onshore and offshore); Required Knowledge/Experience: CAD applications (Ideally Autodesk Inventor); MathCAD; Materials - metals and elastomers; MS Office applications; Mechanical components; Oilfield downhole tools; Stress analysis calculations; Project Engineering; (beneficial but not essential) National and international standards related to Oilfield equipment. Salary: Negotiable at the moment; very dependent on experience.
