MECHANICAL DESIGN ENGINEER

This position provides mechanical engineering design leadership for modality components and subsystems. The position works to identify and execute strategic quality engineering efforts in addition to driving cross-functional engagement of quality project initiatives. This role requires the interaction with other service and design engineering teams in order to ensure the product quality goals set forth by the business.

DUTIES INCLUDE (BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO):

- Leading design visualization efforts with 3D CAD models (Pro/E is a must have) and essential component and assembly details to explore multiple design options.
- Developing innovative designs of test fixtures to meet all requirements for performance, reliability, cost and manufacturability for our products.
- Providing guidance and requirements to new product development teams in order to improve quality of new releases.
- Verifying product sub-system reliability performance.
- Accountable to choose design concepts and solutions, components, tools and methods.
- Act as mentor and support.
- Maintain and develop competence required for the job.

QUALIFICATIONS:

- BS in Mechanical Engineering, willing to look at candidates with experience vs. education
- 5 years relative work experience in the areas of Injected molded plastic design, sheet metal design, mechanisms, cables & harnesses, labeling, and packaging.
- Knowledge and up to date experience of Pro/E is a must possibly Solid Works
- Self-directed, able to design complex mechanical test fixtures with minimal guidance.
