Mechanical Engineer

Yoh has a contract opportunity for a MECHANICAL ENGINEER to join our client in Warren, Michigan.

JOB OVERVIEW:
The candidate will be assigned various technical projects and have primary responsibility for oversight and completion. The projects will include evaluating prototypes, identifying field fixes, and researching/developing alternate sources of supply for automotive parts and components.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Review and evaluate program plans/schedules and designs for technical soundness; provide related recommendations and advice to PM staff.
- Participate in design reviews and technical meetings as a functional expert by providing guidance in technical areas
- Monitor and coordinate engineering support from various vendors and government test labs.
- Develop Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs) as required to Remedy problems and deficiencies identified in fielded vehicles.

Job Qualifications:
- Bachelor's of Science degree, in Mechanical Engineering.
- Must also have knowledge/experience with ISO 9000 standards and have the ability to read, interpret, and apply military and commercial specifications and standards.
- Knowledge of and experience with CAD programs.
- Must have Unigraphics NX experience and be competent in reverse engineering vehicle parts.
- This position would require the associate to interpret 2D and 3D drawings and models, modify and create designs using this CAD package.
- Must be capable of obtaining a security clearance.
- 40 hour work week.
