Mechanical Engineer

A leading engineering firm is currently seeking a Mechanical Refinery Turnaround Engineer to execute a variety of projects in a refinery on Lake Michigan. Candidates will be required to provide technical assistance to resolve equipment design, operation and maintenance problems and specify new fixed equipment. Candidates must have BSME and 3-10 years working directly in a refinery. This project is located in Hammond, IN and is slated to last over a year. Our client is seeking only local talent at this time.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Provide technical assistance to resolve equipment design, operation and maintenance problems.
- Specify new equipment
- Extensive field walk down work involving climbing, P&ID as-built work, field measurements, manual sketching, mark up existing drawings.
- Development of job notes and technical scopes of work.
- Capable to read piping Bill of Material and piping isometric drawings.

REQUIREMENTS

- Minimum 3 years of engineering experience within a refinery or petrochemical facility required, prefer project or maintenance engineering
- Requires flexible schedule for turnaround periods 2-4 week period to work extended hours
- BSME
- Extensive knowledge of process plant equipment, construction practices, and refinery mechanical design/ components including pressure vessels, heat exchangers, pumps and piping systems
- Strong computer skills and some capability in AutoCAD
