Mechanical Engineer

A global, medical technology corporation serving the health care industry is currently seeking a Principal Mechanical Engineer in the R&D organization. This is a 6+ month CONTRACT assignment, with the possibility of becoming PERMANENT. This position is located in the San Diego, CA area. Local candidates only.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Work as a member of the Continuous Improvement Engineering team with a focus on sustaining efforts of on-market products to improve customer experience through quality improvements
- This team is focused on three main areas of work, quality improvements, End of Life (EOL) issues and cost reduction
- Support electro-mechanical medical devices manufactured in San Diego, as well as Basingstoke, UK. Some travel may be required

REQUIREMENTS

- BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- 5+ years experience in Medical Devices
- Knowledgeable in medical device manufacturing and quality systems with experience in plastic injection molding, process qualification (V&V) and regulatory requirements within the medical device industry
- Knowledge of SolidWorks, Cosmos (or other finite element analysis program), SAP and Microsoft Project are helpful
