Mechanical Engineer

A leader in innovative products and complete solutions in the healthcare industry is currently seeking a Mechanical Engineer to act as lead engineer on medical devices, robotics and process automation projects in the Tarrytown, NY, area. This is a 5 month CONTRACT position, with the possibility of extension. Local candidates only. No per diem is available for this assignment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Create and develop precision electro-mechanical mechanisms, robotic manipulators components and assemblies to meet product design specifications and regulatory requirements
- Perform engineering analysis and establish test plans to demonstrate product designs meet performance and safety requirements

REQUIREMENTS

- BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering. Advanced degree preferred
- 8+ years experience in mechanical product development and engineering with an emphasis on complex electromechanical medical devices
- Experience with precision drive mechanisms, fluid mechanics, heat transfer, vibration, acoustics, sensor technologies, electronics packaging, and injection molding part design is highly desirable
- Ability to apply engineering principals and theory to develop safe, innovative and robust medical products
- Knowledge of thermal, structural analysis and design a plus
- Proficiency with leading MCAD software is a must. NX is strongly preferred
