Mechanical Engineer

Electrical power generation client is currently seeking 2 Mechanical Engineers to develop, specify, and request engineering modifications to support extreme environmental event mitigation at the Oconee Nuclear Site in Seneca, SC. These are 1 year CONTRACT positions, with the possibility of extension. Local candidates preferred but per diem will be available for qualified candidates.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Follow the development of the engineering modifications to validate that the original requirements are met
- Perform engineering analysis and calculation preparation (piping hydraulic analysis) to support and size equipment for proposed strategies
- Perform engineering services associated with institutional controls related to new equipment
- Document Management, configuration control, engineering input to the development of Operating and Maintenance Manuals, establish Equipment IDs, provide input to the Preventive Maintenance (PM) technical basis, and establish Model Work Orders
- Assist in the generation of licensing submittal documentation relating to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) Mitigation Strategies Orders

REQUIREMENTS

- Familiarity with Pressurized Water Reactor (PWR) Primary Systems, Structures, and Components preferred
- Experience with the Development of Hydraulic Flow Models using Woods Modeling software a plus
- Experience with the Development of Modification packages in Nuclear Power Plants preferred
