Mechanical Engineer

Electrical power generation client is currently seeking two Mechanical Engineers for the Catawba Nuclear Station in York, SC, to perform Lead Engineer functions in development of engineering changes / modifications. These are one-year contract positions with the possibility of extension. Per diem will be available for candidates who qualify.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Performing calculations, revising various design documents, providing engineering input and oversight to revision of drawings, dealing with procurement issues, and producing the engineering change package
- May also participate in design studies related to proposed projects
- Duties also include providing in plant engineering support for resolution of field problems during implementation
- Offices are located in the protected area at Catawba Nuclear Station
- Occasional overtime and shift work will be required to support installation of assigned changes

REQUIREMENTS

- BS degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Previous experience with engineering changes (modifications) preferably at an operating nuclear power plant
- Five years nuclear plant experience is preferred, but will consider a lesser experienced individual with good potential and interest in the Nuclear Power industry
- Previously received an SRO license or Nuclear Plant Systems Training
- Technically knowledgeable in Mechanical Engineering computer tools such as flow modeling programs and MathCad
- Familiarity with ASME Piping Codes and other engineering standards
