Mechanical Engineer

A Senior Mechanical Engineer with experience designing automated industrial or material handling equipment is needed for a position located in York, PA.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Design, develop, and oversee production of automated equipment including high-speed transfer cars, stainless steel dairy packaging machines, pallet & package conveyors, and other material handling automated equipment
- Manage projects within the department scope of supply by taking technical leadership of the mechanical portions of the project, defining project parameters for design and breaking projects down into several tasks
- Guide design work of others to accomplish design tasks
- Calculate rates, stresses, power requirements, and pneumatic components
- Interface with Controls, Sales and Production Shop departments to complete equipment design and production
- Maintain 3D data to produce manufacturing drawings with BOMs, track revisions, record design history and update standards

REQUIREMENTS

- BSME degree with 4-6 years experience designing automated industrial or material handling equipment
- At least 2 years experience using SolidWorks as a primary design tool, working with 150-5,000 part assemblies
- At least 4 years experience using AutoCAD
- Experience in designing and specifying pneumatic systems, electric gear motors, sensors and power transmission components
- Experience in similar 3D parametric modelers such as SolidEdge, Inventor, Pro/E will be considered
