Mechanical Engineer

Mechanical Engineer is needed to work directly with the Mechanical Engineering Manager in Atlanta, GA. This is a 9-12 month temp-to-hire position. Only local candidates in Metro Atlanta will be considered. Recent and new graduates with Mechanical Engineering or Construction degrees are required. You must have some experience in estimating, MS Project or other scheduling software, and construction to be considered. Experience with MEP will also be considered. Now interviewing!

RESPONSIBILITIES

- You will provide project scheduling and/or estimating
- You will support the Mechanical Engineering Manager by estimating, evaluating and value engineering the mechanical scope of work for various projects simultaneously.
- Provide technical review of "Requests for Quotation" (RFQ) documentation, prepare RFQ and respond to Request for Information (RFI) from subcontractors and vendors
- Provide technical review of subcontractors and vendors quotations and equipment shop drawings/piping shop drawings. Comment on constructability of design as required.
- Coordinate work between Mechanical and Electrical/ Architectural/Structure disciplines
- You must have solid verbal and written presentation skills, and demonstrate willingness to take initiative, solve problems, and maintain effective internal and external relationships.
- Experience in estimating and/or Scheduling using MS Project , Primavera or similar estimating software. Experience with Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing construction management is preferred

REQUIREMENTS

- You must have a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or Construction Management
- Must have at least 2-3 years of experience Mechanical Construction Estimating OR MEP Construction experience
- Experience in estimating and/or Scheduling using MS Project , Primavera or similar scheduling software. Experience with Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing construction management will also be considered
- You must be able to read drawings, interface with consulting engineers, project managers, and architects.
- You must be proficient in Microsoft Project scheduling and with Microsoft products (e.g., Word, Excel, Office, Outlook) and internet use.
