Mechanical Engineer

A world leading manufacturer of construction and mining equipment, diesel and natural gas engines, industrial gas turbines and diesel-electric locomotives is currently seeking a Mechanical Engineer to research and investigate the design, functionality and maintenance of mechanical products, equipment, systems and processes in the Tucson, AZ, area. This is a 1 year CONTRACT position, with the possibility of extension. Local candidates only, as there is no per diem available for this role.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Support validation (test) activities for new machine products, as well as support CPI activities
- Define testing and acceptability criteria, create supporting request forms for securing operations resources, execute those test / validation plans, and capture / document significant results and recommendations

REQUIREMENTS

- BSME, BSAgE or related degree. Will consider equivalent experience
- Experience in Machine, Transmission, Drivetrain or Engine testing
- Farm or Mechanic experience a plus
- PPG / TPG and Instrumentation experience desired
- Good understanding of statics / dynamics, strength of materials, and metal / weld fatigue theory
- Working knowledge of Data Analysis Toolkit (DATK), ProE, CLINK, and FEA software is also desired
