Mechanical Drafter Job

MECHANICAL DRAFTER needed for a contract opportunity with Yoh's client in Columbia, South Carolina.

The Big Picture - Top Skills You Should Possess:
- Skilled with tools such as: AutoCad, Inventor, MS Office, Adobe, Pro-E, Labview
- Ability to create detailed design drawings for mechanical equipment and or tools

What You'll Be Doing:
- Develop detailed design drawings and specifications for mechanical equipment, dies/tools, and controls, using computer-assisted drafting (CAD) equipment.
- Coordinate with and consult other workers to design, layout, or detail components and systems and to resolve design or other problems.
- Review and analyze specifications, sketches, drawings, ideas, and related data to assess factors affecting component designs and the procedures and instructions to be followed.
- Compute mathematical formulas to develop and design detailed specifications for components or machinery, using computer-assisted equipment.
- Position instructions and comments onto drawings.
- Modify and revise designs to correct operating deficiencies or to reduce production problems.
- Check dimensions of materials to be used and assign numbers to the materials.
- Layout and draw schematic, orthographic, or angle views to depict functional relationships of components, assemblies, systems, and machines
- Layout, draw, and reproduces illustrations for reference manuals and technical publications to describe operation and maintenance of mechanical systems.
- Capable of multitasking and/or prioritizing projects while maintaining a high standard of accuracy and completeness.
- Capable of simple to moderate calculations for component selection when given verbal direction and a good model.
- Exhibit understanding of shop capabilities and shop practices as it applies to the manufacture of equipment.

What You Need to Bring to the Table:
- Five (5) years of experience as a Drafter
- Two (2) year Associate Degree in mechanical or electrical design from an accredited technical school preferred
