Mechanical Design Engineer - Solidworks, Autocad, Aerospace

Mechanical Design Engineer required for a global defence and Aerospace company.

Mechanical design engineer on a 3 month contract, with a high possibility for extension, based in Marlow.

Criteria:

Solidworks (3D CAD)
AutoCAD (2D CAD)
Aerospace Background
Must have a Mechanical Design Degree.
Hands on experience in an engineering/manufacturing environment
Ability to read and understand Technical drawings/documents
Able to communicate at all levels of the business and with sub-contractors

Background:

Creation and amendment of 3D CAD models, drawings and ERP data for customers ie manufacturing (internal + external suppliers), Purchasing, Engineering, Programme Management and Sales & Marketing using approved procedures and processes.
Supporting materials engineers investigations and follow up writing reports
To liaise as appropriate with any other discipline to enable timely completion of the set tasks to achieve a universally appreciated outcome.
To run design analyses software tools, for stress, drag and thermal modelling in support of designs.

Core Cuties:

Responsible for the generation and amendment of Development documentation
Produce drawings & documentation to BS308, DEF.STD 05-10 or other standard, using CAD.
Produce & amend Bills of Material for the MRP/ERP system to set standards.
Investigate and define answers to design problems via NCR's from manufacturing.
Answer any queries from other Departments as requested by management.
Run Design Analysis software tools, for stress, drag and thermal modelling and supply reports as required
The customer specifications have already been received
Using these specifications the Mechanical Design Engineer will provide the initial design concept including drawings, perform analysis as required of the design (using Solidworks, this will include analysis on Thermal, Stress and Drag), then pass the design for prototype manufacture.
If there are any fails' during the initial design and analysis stage the Mechanical Engineer will engage with the Antennas Systems Team to resolve.
Whilst the customer requirements have already been received there may be the need to confirm Validation & Verification of these requirements within the business.
The Mechanical Design Engineer will also be responsible for liaising with the Environmental Testing team on the requirements.
Process flow: Customer requirement > Initial Concept > Design > Analysis (Testing) > Prototype Manufacture
