Mechanical Design Engineer - Solidworks - Autocad - 2D - 3D

Our client, a global defence and Aerospace company is looking for a, Mechanical Design Engineer on a 13 week contract, with a high possibility for extension, based in Marlow.

Background:

Creation and amendment of 3D CAD models, drawings and ERP data for our customers ie manufacturing (internal + external suppliers), Purchasing, Engineering, Programme Management and Sales & Marketing using approved procedures and processes. Supporting materials engineer's investigations and follow up writing reports to liaise as appropriate with any other discipline to enable timely completion of the set tasks to achieve a universally appreciated outcome. To run design analyses software tools, for stress, drag and thermal modelling in support of designs

Core Duties:

Responsible for the generation and amendment of Development documentation

Produce drawings & documentation to BS308, DEF.STD 05-10 or other standard, using CAD

Produce & amend Bills of Material for the MRP/ERP system to set standards.

Investigate and define answers to design problems via NCR's from manufacturing.

Answer any queries from other Departments as requested by management.

Run Design Analysis software tools, for stress, drag and thermal modelling and supply reports.

Criteria:

Experience working within the Aerospace Sector

Experience of using either or both 2D or 3D CAD packages (preferably Autocad & Solidworks)

Working within a Drawing Office environment

Education:

Degree in Mechanical design/engineering minimum. However would consider equivalents.
