Mechanical Design Engineer, NX 6-7.5, Leicestershire, Contract
My client is looking for 2 Mechanical designers to start immediately on designing rotating machinery and pumps for their client from old designs and bring them into the 21st century.

You will have to be skilled using NX 6, but preferably 7.5 and have the mechanical understanding to work essentially from scratch. This will require remodelling and performing calculations for the 3D designs up to the level the client requires, based on original and out of date designs.

Key responsibilities will include:

-Concept work and design studies
-Design detailing, bill of materials compilation and drawing release
-Prototype build support
-Total ownership of smaller projects and machine enhancements (dependent upon experience)

In addition to a passion for engineering, design innovation and a desire to be 'hands-on' involved in projects from conception to completion, the ideal candidates will:

-Be educated to HND/Degree level (or equivalent) in an associated mechanical engineering discipline
-Have demonstrable design office experience (preferably in the marine industry)
-Be a competent CAD user (UniGraphics NX4, NX6 or NX 7.5 preferred) & have a working knowledge of other associated supporting software tools
