Mechanical Design Engineer Job

MECHANICAL DESIGN ENGINEER needed for a six months + CONTRACT opportunity with Yoh's client located in Lake Forest, CA.

What You'll Be Doing:
- The design engineer will provide fundamental engineering support to develop initial design concepts through proto-typing and production release.
- This individual will interface directly with R&D, Manufacturing and external vendors to resolve design and fabrication issues.
- Design precision machine parts, sheet metal enclosures and mounting brackets.
- Design parts/assembly/fixture from scratch or sketches and with minimal instructions/directions.
- Develop conceptual layouts to capture product specification and function of assembly/component interface, PCBA form factor and Cable routing
- Specify material/finish and selection of OEM components (hardware, fasteners, pins, fitting, etc.)
- Create complex 3D models, large assembly, fabrication drawings utilizing Creo Elements/Pro 5.0 (Pro-Engineer)
- Generate detailed fabrication drawings per Global DRM and ASME Y-14M with knowledge of GD&T application
- Perform complex interference fit checks, motion studies, and tolerance analysis on large assembly

What You Need to Bring to the Table:
- BS degree with ten (10) years of experience in electro-mechanical design
- Proficient in Creo Elements/Pro 5.0 (Pro-Engineer) foundation modules (3D Detail Design/Part/Sheetmetal/Assembly modelling, Pro-Process, Pro-Report and ECAD
- Proficient in applying Top Down Design (TDD) methodologies and applications of model-centric designs
- Familiarity with Pro-Cable, Pro-Harness and Pro-Diagram modules is highly desirable
- Knowledgeable with utilizing Windchill PDMLink to configure and manage Pro-E CAD data
