Mechanical Design Engineer - 6 Months - Glasgow

A client based in Glasgow is looking for an Mechanical Design engineer. This will be for an initial 6 month contract.

Responsibilities:

- Produce and develop concepts, specifications and engineering solutions to exciting mechanical problems
- Design and develop complete assemblies and systems from start to finish
- Test your own designs
- Interact with users and customers
- Assign tasks to engineers/managers/contractors
- Collate/produce progress & project reports and aid in decision making based upon their results
- Ensure that project related records are complete, accurate and up-to-date
- Produce studies and technical assessments
- Knowledge of engineering principles + strong mechanical engineering skills
- Maintaining and controlling project documentation, costs and procedures
- Minimum 3 years experience in an appropriate engineering field
- Experience in modelling and drafting on AutoDesk Inventor, Solidworks or similar
- Subsea/offshore/defence/MoD background
- Experience in design integration of mechanical systems
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD, MathCAD or similar
