Mechanical Design Engineer

I am looking for a proactive and resourceful Mechanical Design Engineer to join an established company in the field of Automotive Engineering for a 6 MONTH CONTRACT in SURREY.

This is a fantastic opportunity to support the Reliability and Design teams to achieve highly reliable and well designed products to satisfy urgent change/repair requests. The essence of the role is to analyse failed components in the field and discuss possible remedial options with clients and field engineers to determine the best solution in terms of feasibility and cost.

Initially, the role will be to produce high quality CAD drawings, managing updates and design changes to existing designs in PLM system. As you progress, you will be responsible for generating your own designs for peer reviews.

Requirements

Able to use 3D CAD tool
Familiar with Teamcentre PLM or similar
Able to coordinate engineering updates in Change Management tool
Analysis and use of BOM, inventory and manufacturing spread sheets.
Able to create MS PowerPoint presentations for Design and Concept reviews
Able to communicate and rationalise design ideas.

The ideal candidate will have

An appreciation for Automotive Mechanical architectures and systems, ideally chassis
A passion to solve problems though design
Be able to perform FMEA/Reliability Analysis
Be able manage a number 3-4 projects at a time.
Be able to work under pressure.
