Interior Design Engineers required to develop vehicle and subsystem solutions which are perceived by customers as best in class, on time, within budget and to the satisfaction of stakeholders.

The individual will have experience in rolling stock mechanical design, preferably interiors. They are required to contribute to and assist in the development of design solutions using CAD system (CATIA V4 or V5), prepare/facilitate design reviews (Autodesk Opticore).

The position requires the person to participate in and lead work packages whilst supporting other members of the Industrial Design Department with their specialist mechanical design knowledge. The individual is required to contribute to the continuous improvement of the processes and tools used by the Industrial Design Department. The individual is required to liaise with other engineering and business functions.

Qualifications & Functional Knowledge

* Degree and/or Chartered status essential, Masters Degree desirable.
* Technical domain experience essential, System Integration experience essential, System Architectural understanding essential.
* Rail experience desirable.
* Significant experience and hands on delivery of the design, analysis, development, testing and delivery of engineering solutions that solve complex requirements.
* Provide cost and schedule estimates on complicated engineering programs.
* Be able to demonstrate the ability to use this technical knowledge in the support of other departments (engineering, production, procurement, projects) and the development of less experienced engineering personnel
