Job Title: Mechanical Design Engineer

Reporting to: Chief Engineer

Rate: Negotiable

Location: London

Duration: 3 months (Ongoing)

Ideal academic qualifications: HNC/HND/Degree: Engineering or Product Design related discipline

Key job skills:

3D solid modelling and engineering drawing annotation using PTC Creo Elements Direct Modelling rev 18.1
Design for NPD (New Product Development) using modern engineering methods
Innovative problem solving and product design skills
Enthusiastic, self-motivated, committed and results orientated
Good written and oral communication

Relevant experience (not essential, training will be provided)

Development of high performance Electrical Connector designs to safely and reliably meet challenging electrical/mechanical/environmental specifications
A basic understanding of the use of electrical components within connectors to provide EMC filtering and transient surge protection
A basic understanding of transmission line technology and application of the related engineering principles to the development of High Speed Digital Data/RF interconnects

List of significant activities:

Working for a global market leading InterconnecT specialist in a new Advanced Engineering Centre
NPD Design development, prototyping/product realisation and characterisation of new electrical connector systems, PCB assemblies and other high performance interconnects for customers in the Defence and Commercial Avionics and other challenging market sectors
