Mechanical Design Engineer

Role: Mechanical Design Engineer

Location: Liverpool

Duration: 6 months (Good chance to extend)

Rate: Negotiable

I am currently looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join a highly ambitious and expanding company based in the Liverpool area.

Reporting to the Engineering Manager your main responsibilities will be to implement design from concept to completion, including the input of data into the MRP system. You will play an integral part within a unique group of highly experienced Mechanical Design Engineers and work for a company who value its employees

Duties and responsibilities
*Producing compliant designs that are economical and safe to manufacture, inspect/test and maintain whilst meeting the minimum standard of fit for purpose.
*Mechanical design and draughting of assemblies and detail parts.
*Producing drawings using 2D and 3D CAD.
*Creation of parts lists and data entry into a database.
*Materials and component selection.
*Maintenance of effective records of design compliancy, technical calculations and source data.
*Liaison with in-house production team, subcontractors and suppliers

Must have experience and skills

*Proven 3D solid modelling using Solidworks (1yr+)

*Work in a production drawing office environment (BOMs, ECRs and documentation)

*Material selection

*Minimum 5 years relevant experience

*Personal attributes

*Excellent communication skills and able to deal with all levels of the organisation

*Must be a team player and also able to work alone with minimum guidance
*Structured individual with good problem solving skill.
