Mechanical Engineer - AutoCAD - Hampshire - Great Salary + Benefits

My client is one of theUK's leading manufacturers of specialist engineering pipe systems for industrial and building-related applications. Founded in 1948 the company has established a worldwide reputation for its innovative range of products, including corrosion-resistant pipe solutions and pre-insulated pipe systems for district heating and cooling applications.

Largely focussed on the company's district heating pipe systems, the mainly office-based role will entail you designing pipe networks and liaising with external sales engineers and clients to optimise designs for operation and economics. Other activities will include:

* Calculation and analysis of thermal expansion and stress levels using the industry-leading sisKMR software - making the necessary corrections to the design in order to safely accommodate thermal expansion.
* Create pipe layout drawings using the AutoCAD suite of programmes.
* Generate production drawings with AutoCAD and/or Inventor.
* Review client designs and produce material take-offs (MTO).
* Provide both internal and external technical support.
* Liaise with the production department.

You should have experience in:

- Prior experience in pipe systems (pressure pipes or drainage systems) and be
- competent in the use of the AutoCad software suite - although relevant experience in district heating - including pipe sizing and heat loss calculations - plus the use of Autodesk Inventor software is preferred.
