Mechanical Design Engineer

Scotland/West Lothian/Mechanical Design Engineer/6 months minimum/Pro e wildfire 4/Start next week

Key Tasks:

Acting as the mechanical design within the project taking responsibility for the success of the mechanical design.

Acting as technical interface between external mechanical designers and the internal engineering team.

Assessing new mechanical designs for manufacturability, robustness etc. and providing feedback to team members.

Interfacing with manufacturing facilities during the product development.

Produce both 3D and 2D cad files for production release.

Experience: Engineering Degree qualified or equivalent

Person Specification

Skills:

Experienced with 3D CAD packages and ideally with pro engineer wild fire 4.

Good understanding of mechanical design including modelling and finite element analysis.

Proven track record as part of a product development team/group.

Experience of mechanical design within the automotive or light industrial marketplace is desirable.

Capable of taking responsibility for project tasks to strict timescales and deadlines.

Good understanding of Plastic moldings and Geometric Tolerance.

Attitude: The ideal candidate will be self driven and motivated, with an emphasis on meeting project timescales and product quality objectives.
