Mechanical Design Engineer

MECHANICAL DESIGN ENGINEER, WEST MIDLANDS, CONTRACT

My client is looking for a mechanical design engineer to be responsible for the Mechanical Engineering primarily for the offshore oil & gas sector. You must have a relevant engineering degree for this role.

The day to day role will be detailed fabrication drawings, general arrangement drawings of generator packages and ancillary equipment, project P&ID's, preparation of relevant structural/dynamic design calculations for member selection, weld & bolt strength, equipment selection and preparation of bills of material and purchase requisitions, project status reporting and liaison with project team (including participation in design review meetings).

Experience of build standards and latest directives including CE marking, ATEX, PED, PUWER, IMCA, etc, is essential. Excellent written and oral/presentation skills are essential along with the ability to work autonomously and as part of a team. You will be proficient in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Project, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat, Autocad LT 2013 and knowledge of Solid Works would be beneficial.
