Mechanical Design Engineer Required Urgently!!
SPM Design
Rates between 20-22 per hour (LTD)
3 month contract minimum with possible extensions
Based in Hertfordshire

This leading engineering firm are currently seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer due to an upturn in workload. My client specialises in the manufacturing of complex special purpose machinery for the automotive industry.

The role will involve:
1. Design of complex automated and manual special purpose machinery using Autocad
2. Design of components include fabricated parts, brackets, mechanisms, pneumatics, conveyers, drives and gears
3. Completing manufacturing and general arrangement drawings
4. Basic calculations to work out the stress and loads for equipment
5. Sourcing materials for equipment and components
6. Working to high precisions and tight tolerances

The successful applicant must possess the following:
1. Experienced of designing using Autocad
2. A good strong engineering background
3. Experience of working within a automation/ High precision automation/machine tool design environment.
4. Experience of designing precision components for machinery.
