Mechanical Design Engineer

A Fortune 500 energy company is currently seeking 2 Mechanical Design Engineers for the Harris Nuclear Plant in New Hill, NC. This project is scheduled to last 1 year, with the possibility of extension. Per diem and mobilization / demobilization will be available for qualified candidates. Actual pay rate will be commensurate with experience, so all qualified candidates are encouraged to apply. Please indicate your desired rate during the application process. There are also 2 openings for Mechanical Engineers with experience preparing mechanical flow or heat load calculations at Robinson Nuclear Plant in Hartsville, SC.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Act as a Responsible Engineer for assigned projects and in a support capacity on other project teams as required
- Design package development, coordination of design efforts with selected A / E, technical support during implementation and conduct reviews / approvals of design products covering a range of areas associated with main turbine control system upgrades
- Required to pass site security access requirements including General Employee Training, Radiation Worker Training, Security Clearance checks and subject to the site's Fitness for Duty Program

REQUIREMENTS

- BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- 5+ years of nuclear power plant design engineering experience
- Ability to obtain qualifications as a Modification Engineer is required in order to be fully functional and work independently in this position
- Working knowledge of Passport is highly desirable
- Experience in the design of mechanical systems, including electro-hydraulic turbine control systems, piping & valves, main turbine and support systems within the nuclear industry is desired
