Mechanical Design Engineer

MECHANICAL DESIGN ENGINEER contract opportunity in Milwaukee, WI. Projected 12-month assignment. Need electrical component design experience. Includes per diem.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Design of mechanical power products including developing concepts
- Develop using ProE modeling of sheet metal, plastics and fabricated component designs that are manufacturable at reduced cost
- Perform analysis and verification testing
- Conduct cross-functional design reviews, implementation of engineering changes, document design changes and test results, and evaluation/performance testing including writing summary reports
- Design analysis to ensure fit and functionality
- Prepare engineering drawings to established standards

REQUIREMENTS

- BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering OR academic equivalent OR equivalent experience
- Minimum 5+years experience in mechanical design of industrial electro-mechanical products
- Specific design experience with sheetmetal, metal fab and plastic components
- Working knowledge of ProEngineer
- Experienced in cost reduction design techniques
- Need basic knowledge of power products such as contactors, circuit breakers and disconnects
- A PLUS to have working knowledge or familiarity with SAP
- Good interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
