Mechanical Design Engineer

An exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Design Engineer has arisen with my client a leading Defence, Security and Technology Company based in Malvern. This is a part time role.

The role of Mechanical Design Engineer is to support the design, development or modification of mechanical products.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Coordinate with the Lead Engineer for appropriate project or functional team, to carry out appropriate product design and development. This should be in line with company guidelines.
- Review product requirements to ensure that these are in line with current capability, and highlight any deficiencies where appropriate.
- Develop, document, and maintain policies, procedures, and associated guidelines for the design and development of product within the Mechanical Engineering function as appropriate.
- Produce design review material, outlining alternative concepts, articulating the relative merits and disadvantages in an impartial manner in line with company guidelines and best practice.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

- Relevant engineering degree or equivalent experience.
- Strong engineering background, preferably in a mechanical engineering environment, with a working knowledge or product design, manufacturing and mechanical test methods
- Ability to apply previous experience in mechanical engineering developed in the aerospace or
- Proficient in Computer Aided Design (CAD) and Analysis Tools - Solid Edge ST2 with Teamcenter User experience is needed.
- Experience producing new Designs and Detail Drawings to BS8888.
