RESPONSIBILITIES

- Read and interpret customer-supplied architectural drawings showing desired positions of client's fixtures, including intended electrical circuiting and switching/control schemes
- Produce detailed mechanical drawings using SolidEdge (SolidWorks) software showing layout configurations of products (drawings must provide all necessary details, dimensions and complete bill of materials when complete)
- Establish and maintain a knowledge of product development trends, both domestic and international, focusing on the Commercial and Institutional industry
- Create proof-of-concept and system verification mockups, testing, and support through physical experimentations and/or computer simulations
- Contribute to the overall objectives of the Team including, but not limited to: modeling, documentation, process development, internal and external training
- Supports sales events such as customer (rep/client) visits, trade shows, or sales calls to provide and present additional product and design information

REQUIREMENTS

- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent, with a minimum of five years practical experience in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design or a related field
- Requires a strong technical background with a working knowledge of sheet metal design, hands-on prototyping experience, and solid modeling
- Understanding of the manufacturing automation/CNC programming, Finite Element Analysis, thermal design, building/construction industry, production processes, and electrical/electronics is desired
- Experience working with higher end CAD systems such as Solid Works, Solid Edge, Pro-E, etc. is highly desired
- Good communication and presentation skills are required
