Mechanical Design Engineer

Mechanical Design Engineer opening for someone with external Gas Turbine Engine components or Gas Turbine design experience (experience in the aerospace, aircraft, and automotive industries are all acceptable). This is a long term contract position with potential to go direct located in the Indianapolis, IN area. Local candidates or those able to self relocate preferred. Per diem can be worked out for qualified candidates.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Mechanical design of externals components, tube (fuel, lube, and air), support brackets, electrical harnesses, and cold structures.
- Design external components to support new product introduction
- Support product improvement initiatives to improve component quality and reliability, reduce scrap, improve delivery, and reduce cost
- Disposition component non-conformances to print to support engine assembly

REQUIREMENTS

- BSME with a GPA of 3.0 or better
- 2-5 years of mechanical design experience (experience designing Gas Turbine or Gas Turbine Engine components such as tubes, fuel manifolds, brackets, and cold structures would be ideal) (experience in the aerospace, aircraft, and automotive industries are all acceptable)
- Proficient in the use of Teamcenter and NX
- Component manufacturing experience, basic understanding of machining and joining process
- Ability to generate and interpret component and assembly drawings; and working knowledge of GD&T
- Experience using ANSYS Workbench to perform preliminary structural analysis is helpful
- Active Security Clearance or the ability to obtain a security clearance
