Do you have mechanical engineering experience, are you looking for a new challenge??

Our client is seeking a Mechanical Construction Co-ordinator for a contract role based in Cumbria. This role is working 37 hours per week Mon-Fri for a 12 month duration with the potential to be extended.

The PFSP portfolio of projects contains a number of individual projects with an overall goal of removing fuel and waste from the pond.

In summary the individual projects are:
1) Completion of Inactive commissioning of the Local Sludge Treatment Plant and modifications as a result of the Drum Fill Plant.
2) Drum Fill Plant currently in the Concept Design Phase, with advance works early in f/y 2013. In addition to the two major projects above, further improvement works are ongoing to PFSP and they are Asset care Task delivery, LTPR improvement works, ILW removal tasks and various Pilot improvement Projects.

Objective:
The Construction Engineer provides Technical input to the control and supervision of the works being undertaken, and supports the Construction Manager in ensuring that the construction activities are executed to meet the goals and objectives of the project and business. They also ensure that during construction activities the regulatory and statutory requirements placed on the licensee are complied with to ensure the design & safety intent is met. Produce or assist in production/endorsement of Installation and Safety Method statements.

Deliverables:
Ensuring that the physical configuration of constructed plant (ie ensuring the design intent is met) through verification of the work and manufacturing records. Produce documentation to assist with the construction start up as requested by the Construction manager. Carry out Engineering checks, ensuring manufactured items are installed and tested in line with Project specifications. Assisting with off site inspections and quality audits and inspections. Ensuring a proactive and proportionate approach to safety, (nuclear, radiological, conventional and environmental) to ensure that safety is optomised on the PFSP portfolio. Assist with the discharge of Principal Contractor duties as required. assist with the discharge of Nominated Representative duties as required. Ensuring that work is controlled and that all Legal, regulatory, contractual and Governance arrangements are met. Reporting progress to the Construction Manager and maintaining appropriate records for safety, contractual or quality purposes. Managing day to day liaison with personnel to ensure any necessary permissions are in place and impacts are minimized to the Project. Capturing, sharing and applying construction LFE and share best practice.

Key Skills:
Multi discipline engineering experience in managing contractors, Good communication skills, Must be able to work alone. Coordinate and interface with multi discipline teams. Familiar with production of Risk assessments, Method Statements and management systems. A logical and Methodical engineering approach to problem solving and evaluating technical solutions, Ability to inspect work and ensure good quality. Familiar with and expected to actively participate in all MDDR, SDDR and Constructability reviews.

Pay Rate Details- £22.00 - £28.00 depending on experience.
