Mechanic, MOT Tester

A leading public sector organisation is looking for an MOT tester to join their team on a contract basis.

The successful candidate must have experience carrying out MOT tests.

The main responsibilities for the role are:

1. Carry out fitter duties on both vehicles and plant, inclusive of all ancillary equipment, as and when required in accordance with health and safety procedures and legislation. Prepare and present vehicles and plant for MOT and Plating tests and carry out MOT's on behalf of the Council as required once fully qualified.

2. Carry out pre - delivery inspections and preparation on new vehicles and plant. Give technical support and identify repairs and omissions on new vehicles when compared with vehicle specification.

3.Diagnose and rectify faults on vehicles, plant and all auxiliary equipment and to carry out a range of repairs as required, including: minor body work, welding, tail-lift repair and weight tests, and internal heater maintenance.

4. Verify any additional work requirements on vehicles and plant in workshops. Road test vehicles. Complete all necessary records to maintain vehicles, plant and cost information.
