Mcommerce Technical Expert (Project Manager)

Yoh has a contract opportunity for an MCOMMERCE TECHNICAL EXPERT to join our client in New York City, NY.

Job Overview:
Within a small team of experienced professionals, act as the A focal point for all technical aspects related to the design, development and delivery of mCommerce products, services, technical specifications and industry white papers by the firm and its members, in particular ensuring alignment of technical working groups with business requirements and helping to steer business decisions when technical feasibility is essential to the decision.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Input to the specification of technical solutions and Test and Certification requirements, either as an individual contributor or as technical lead of dispersed expert groups from mobile operators, industry working groups, etc.
- Technical design and support for the implementation and operation of technical solutions with Operators for in-market trials/deployments and within the firm's industry events for showcasing new business opportunities.
- Exploratory research into the use of different technologies for creating new business opportunities for Operators.
- Liaison with external standards organizations to input to the ongoing development and enhancement of both NFC industry specifications and technical standards.
- Ownership of relationship with peer group of expertise within Mobile operators.
- Providing ongoing technical support to the wider mCommerce Programme team and act as a knowledge sharing node within the firm's mCommerce Programme.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- Engineering degree and/or similar technical experience in the development of NFC based, or other relevant mobile products and services.
- You will have strong experience within teams specifying and developing mCommerce services, especially those secured using the SIM, including experience with organizations in some of the following areas; Financial organizations, Transport networks, Mobile Operators, SIM/Smartcard vendors, mobile handset vendors and POS terminal vendors.
- Strong demonstrable experience in a wide range of NFC technology areas including knowledge of: EMV NFC payment solutions (card or otherwise), transport standards such as ITSO, Mi-Fare, Calypso, Oyster, etc.
- Demonstrable experience with relevant specifications and standards organizations - including ETSI, EMVCo, Global Platform, Java and potentially 3GPP.
- You will have experience of working with international organizations, customers and partners on at least two countries/continents.
- You will be willing to work within and as necessary, lead teams of dispersed professionals.
- You will be an excellent customer relationship and stakeholder manager, able to generate trust, long term engagement and commitment - and able to propose adequate trade-offs when different stakeholders have different positions.
- You will have a strong intellect, able to work with abstract concepts through to detailed solutions that are understandable, agreeable and implementable.
- You will be detail and customer service oriented.
